Pain has been my greatest teacher

Pain has taught me much in my years on this earth. More times than not I don't learn the lesson until long after the moment is gone. Of the thousands of lessons it has taught me I will share these...

1. True commitment and loyalty are uncommon gifts. If you are fortunate enough to find them both in a good person do not treat them poorly or presumption that they are indefinite. They should be honored, cherished, and protected if you wish to keep them. Take them for granted and you will certainly lose them.

2. Life is precious and finite so live, not simply exist. I have read too many times to be patient and to wait. For me waiting just isn't an option. I will be patient in knowing that if I continue to work towards something that I will get it but work hard towards it so that the goal may be obtained. And live with passion, find happiness, and pursue things that give you purpose. As Ernest Hemingway once said, “Never delay kissing a pretty girl or opening a bottle of whiskey.”

3. Revenge on another person never settles a debt owed excluding but a hand full of instances. Those thoughts and actions are toxic. The best thing you can do if someone does you wrong is to turn your back on them and continue on with your own life. If they persist the seek a remedy that will remove them from your world, the goal is your peace not retribution. As the saying goes "The best revenge is to move on and be happy".

So learn the lessons paid teaches you and know the difference between discomfort and pain. Discomfort is merely a side effect of growth.
